what Amazon.com thinks I want

2 Feb

Hello, Kate. We have recommendations for you.

Based on your interest in knee-high Doc Martens, we assume that you are covered in scars from various mosh pits and knife fights.

You must get into all kinds of trouble, you wacky iconoclast, you!

You’re a little bit goth, and a sucker for nostalgia.

But mostly, you’re just hopelessly trapped in the nineties.

Hmm, I wonder what my shopping car would say about me? Loved this, too funny.

Are people in Doc Marten’s really that violent? If anything, they’re kind of quiet, aloof and 15 years old. Either that or practical and hardworking and have been wearing the same pair since they were 15. Or just love awesome boots.

At least while you’re holed up in a cast from your last knife fight you can enjoy those Buffy, Addams’ Family and Rocko’s Modern Life DVDs. Call me when you watch Rocko’s Modern Life! Favorite. Show. Ever.

Mine recommended the new Sherlock miniseries download because I’d bought an Aeropress coffee maker. I guess there’s not many leaps of logic from “weird but cheap coffee making gadget” to “nerd who loves PBS and handsome crime-solving Brits but probably doesn’t own a television”.

Side note: I loved the show, have you seen it?
